San Diego Sports Medicine and Family Health Center started in 1980 with a vision to not only give excellent quality medical care, but to also allow our patients to achieve optimum health and fitness. We have 3 offices that specialize in Primary Care Sports Medicine. Our services include Physical Therapy, Acupuncture, Exercise Physiology, Nutrition, Exercise Physiologist, Skin Wellness, Clinical Studies and Peak Performance. Our doctors are the Team Physicians for the Olympic Training Center, San Diego State University, San Diego Christian College and many area high schools.
Dr. Richburg joined San Diego Sports Medicine after completing our Fellowship Program in Sports Medicine in 1998. He graduated from UCLA Family Practice Residency Program in Santa Monica, CA. He is Board Certified in Family Practice and Sports Medicine.

Jeffrey Anthony, DO, FAAFP, FAOASM
Dr. Anthony joined our practice in 1987 and is Board Certified in Family Practice and Sports Medicine. He has served on many boards, including the Governor’s Board for Alvarado Hospital and Medical Center, and the San Diego Academy of Family Practice.

Rebeccah R. Rodriguez, D.O.
Dr. Rodriguez completed her sports medicine fellowship training at San Diego Sports Medicine and Family Health Center in 2010. She is a graduate from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed her family medicine residency in Phoenix, Arizona, and is fluent in Spanish. Prior to her medical training, Dr. Rodriguez danced professionally for 19 years and has worked with Disney, Paula Abdul, Star Search, and Warner Brothers Power Rangers.

Danny Norrdin, MPT
Danny Norrdin is our Clinic Director and one of our licensed physical therapists. He graduated from California State University, Fresno, with a Masters in Physical Therapy (MPT). Prior to San Diego Sports Medicine, he managed an outpatient physical therapy clinic for several years, worked for Eisenhower Medical Center (a top 100 ranked hospital), and Brighton Gardens skilled nursing facility. Danny has a wide variety of interests including sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, and various spine pathologies, just to name a few.
Matt Downs, M.S. Exercise Physiology
Matt received his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Fitness, Nutrition and Health and completed his Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology at San Diego State University. In addition to working at San Diego Sports Medicine, he is also a Personal Trainer. He is certified as a Health and Fitness Specialist through American College of Sports Medicine, and a Group Fitness Instructor through American Council of Exercise. He wants to gain clinical experience and then apply to a Physician’s Assistant program in the near future. Outside of work, Matt enjoys an active lifestyle that includes trail running, softball, and resistance training.
Greg L. Bourque, MS, L.Ac., RETUL Cert.
Greg joined San Diego Sports Medicine and Family Health Center in 2010 after leaving a private practice of ten years. Gregory completed his Bachelor of Science degree in his native province of Nova Scotia. He then entered into the healing arts field by completing a 2 year Massage Therapy program at Mount Royal University in Alberta. In 2000, Gregory received his Master of Science degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, San Diego. Having been a former professional athlete in the sport of cycling, Greg has now become known to treat top athletes in many disciplines. Greg has been involved in many charitable fund raising events such as ‘Ride for the Cure’ and the San Diego to Los Angeles ‘AIDS Ride’.
Kimberly Smith, M.S.
Kimberly Smith graduated from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania with a Master’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology. She completed her Bachelor’s degree at San Diego State University majoring in Kinesiology, emphasizing in Fitness, Nutrition, and Health. The last two years she worked at the Palo Alto VA Hospital on a Stanford University research study. She is a certified Clinical Exercise Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine. Outside of work, she has a passion for hiking, camping, snowboarding, pretty much all outdoor activities, thus, simply leads a very active lifestyle.
